Welcome to beautiful El Dorado County! 

This side of Highway 50's Echo Summit you'll find El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Rescue, Luneman, Coloma, Shingle Springs, Placerville, El Dorado, Diamond Springs, Camino, Pollock Pines, Somerset, Mount Aukum, Grizzly Flats, Silverfork, Kyburz, Pilot Hill, Cool, Georgetown and other unicorporated areas.  Only El Dorado Hills and Placerville are incorporated in this part of the county.

Elevation ranges from a few hundred feet in El Dorado Hills to over 4,000 feet in Polock Pines and Grizzly Flats, with Kyburz being near 5,000 feet.  Annual measurable snowfall can be expected starting at approximately 2,300 feet.  The higher you go, the more you get and the longer it stays! 

There are airports in Cameron Park and Placerville, plus we're located about a one hour drive from Sacramento International Airport to the west and almost an hour drive to South Lake Tahoe airport to the east.  Gold was discovered in 1848 by James Marshall in Coloma, beginning the great California gold rush!  We have appetizing restaurants and even a haunted hotel!  Outstanding medical facilities in Marshall Hospital, breath taking rafting on the American River and many excellent fishing locations.  Vineyards and wineries that rival the best in all of California tops this brief list of attractions!
